So, it may take the MIMEDefang approach?

Where Can-IT is a commercial product that includes MIMEDefang at its 
core, and MIMEDefang is, and remains, a free (both speech and 
beer/lunch) project?  (I hope David, who is also on this list, doesn't 
mind me using him as an example)

That would be very encouraging.  I wouldn't mind that at all.
